Writing Project benefits local students

The West Tennessee Writing Project has found a spot closer to
home as the young writer’s program expands to include a site at
the University of Tennessee at Martin’s Ripley Center.
Ripley Primary School’s Jenny Brandon and Dyersburg Middle
School teacher Becky Hassell recently led a dozen young writers
from Ripley, Halls and Covington for the day to create April
Adventures.

“Our clubhouse is part of the West Tennessee Writing
Project's youth programs,” said Brandon. “It was a great day for
everyone, and we are looking forward to even more participation
in the future.”
The West Tennessee Writing Project is funded by the National
Writing Project along with funds matched by the University of
Tennessee at Martin.
