April meeting brings good news
The Lauderdale County Board of Education recently convened for
their April meeting, adopting textbooks, awarding tenure and
reporting savings on energy costs. After a recommendation by
Scott Foresman of the Textbook Adoption Committee, board members
voted to adopt the system’s new textbook for reading. A list
of teachers recommended for tenure was also approved.
Congratulations to Mary Kathryn Coffman, Christy Flores, Kathy
Johnson, Joni Ketchum, Vicky Lake, Pam Langley, April Merando,
April Oliver, Christie Sherron, Teresa Taylor, Sandra Thayer,
Jeannette Tippett, and John Yarbrough. Michael Walsh gave
board members a report for the first six months of the Energy
Education Program. Thanks to the daily participation of
Lauderdale County’s faculty and staff, the system has saved
$104,000 over last year’s billing for the same time period.
Superintendent of Schools Phillip Jackson plans for Walsh to
share this report with teachers at the system’s upcoming
Recognition Day in May |
