Even mooses get the blues

Aramoos the Mooskateer is pictured above
singing the blues with the Ripley
High School Band at Ripley's annual Labor Day Parade. Aramoos is
the travel
buddy of Ms. Jenny Brandon's second grade class at Ripley
Primary School. He
returned home safely just before school let out for the summer.
Rockin’ to the beat of the '50s

Kindergarten students at Ripley Primary School
recently brought the 1950s back to life with their performance
of the school’s annual Spring Play. Boys and girls donned cool
shades, blue jeans, and poodle skirts in order to be-bop to the
traditional sound of early rock and roll. Pink Cadillacs and
shiny black records were just a few of the features of the program
that delighted parents and guests of the school.

“Play Day” fun for RPS students
Ripley Primary School students recently enjoyed the school’s
“Play Day.” Students in each grade enjoyed many outdoor
activities to celebrate the end of the school year, with
beautiful weather contributing to the day.
Students in Ginny Matthews’ preschool class spent much of the
day climbing on the playground equipment on the new preschool
playground, playing with balls, jumping rope and flying
airplanes. They also enjoyed Popsicles and a picnic lunch.
Kindergarten students in Leslie Dew and Pam Langley’s classes
ate their Happy Meals outside on the lawn, and first- and
second-grade students brought toys from home and spent the day
outside, as well.
Students in Marilyn Lovelace’s class played with hula-hoops and
other outdoor equipment and were treated to ice cream and other
goodies.
“Play Day” was a fun way for students and teachers to mark the
end of the school year and celebrate the beginning of summer.
