Students enjoy a visit from meteorologist Jim
Jaggers

Ripley Primary School students and faculty were
recently treated to a visit by Jim Jaggers, weatherman for News
Channel 3 in Memphis. Mr. Jaggers spent time with a number of
first- and second-grade classes as a part of the Read Across
America program.
His visit was arranged by Mrs. Tanya Nelson, who
serves as the school’s Read Across America Coordinator. The
visit provided many lessons for the children, including weather
safety and facts about lightning. He also read stories to the
students and answered questions. When a student asked if he was
“rich,” Mr. Jaggers explained that he was rich because he had a
loving family, a home and a job. Complimenting the students on
their behavior and attention, he called his visit another
experience that made him rich.
Mr. Jaggers showed audiences his gifts from RPS
on the Channel 3 newscast that evening.
