Students enjoy “Pink Ladies” from California

Ms. Betty Thomas’ third graders at Ripley Elementary School have enjoyed a recent study on life cycles. The students have observed Pink Ladybugs go through their life cycle stages of egg, larvae, pupa, and adult. The eggs were shipped from California, arriving in a test tube with food and water. Students then placed the bugs in Ladybug Land domes, which allowed the children to handle them and observe daily changes. The children eagerly discussed changes in watching the ladybugs hatch, grow, and turn a beautiful pink with black dots.
