Beloved principal receives
gift of love

LMS Principal Bob England
recently received a gift of love from his friends at Lauderdale
Middle School. Mr. England is on medical leave from the school
in order to concentrate all his energy on his fight against
cancer. LMS Faculty and staff, friends and the congregation of
Walnut Grove Baptist Church wrote messages for Mr. England on
quilt blocks provided by LMS eighth-grade teacher Teresa Taylor.
Then Taylor, who owns the home-based quilting business, “Chicken
Scratch Quilting Company,” pieced the blocks into a well-wishes
quilt.
The quilt was recently presented
to England along with the love, prayers and well wishes of the
community.
Cadets “recruit” eighth
graders

Sgt. Major Cook and JROTC cadets came to talk with eighth-grade
students at Lauderdale Middle School regarding the JROTC program
at Ripley High School. Cadets encouraged students to consider
taking JROTC as an elective as they are registering for high
school.
LMS hosts red carpet affair
for retired teachers and school board members

Lauderdale county’s school board
members and retired teachers were honored in late February with
an “Oscar” party hosted by Lauderdale Middle School. Guests were
met at the door by students and escorted down the red carpet
into the cafeteria, which had been transformed into an elegant
eatery. After enjoying some time to “meet and greet” friends and
students, all enjoyed feasting from an abundant buffet prepared
by the LMS teachers and staff.
