Dress Code is successful

Students at Halls Junior High School joined the
rest of the Lauderdale County School System in following a
standardized dress code this fall. The new dress code offers a
variety of colors to choose from in many styles that keep the
students dressed for success. Students are pictured during
regular class time and posing in their new school colors.
Duke Scholars honored

Several Halls Junior High School students were
recently honored as Duke Scholars through Duke University’s
annual TIP program. Seventh graders Gared Colvin, Tripp Crews,
Colton Dew, Aaron Lumley, Mandy McClellan, Cole Nichols and
Kelsey Yarbrough earned the right to take the ACT college
placement test alongside high school juniors in the area.
Students who score high enough on the ACT will receive
additional honors on the state level.
HJH Students enjoy new laptops

Seventh graders throughout the Lauderdale County
School System will have the opportunity this year to use new
Apple iBook computers with money for education from the
Governor’s new tax on tobacco products. The new iBooks are
currently being prepared for students like these pictured in
Mrs. Tara Hutchison’s English class at Halls Junior High School.

settling into their new school, finding lockers and classes,
joining clubs and sharing a lunchroom with the upperclassmen at
Halls High School. Here, several new HJH students are pictured

Open House welcomes students and families

Eighth grade English teacher Jean Criner speaks to parents about

Halls Junior High School recently held its Parent Orientation
and Open House to welcome parents and students back for a new
academic year. Newly appointed principal Ned Lewis introduced
himself and welcomed families to the event, with students and
parents finding rooms and lockers and chatting with teachers
after the meeting in the gym.
