Basketball season begins

The 2006-2007 HJH Boys Basketball Team.

The 2006-2007 HJH Girls Basketball Team
The HJH Basketball team began its season in
November with hopes to achieve another solid season after
placing second in last year’s B-Team Tournament. Coach Paul
Climer will lead both the boys and girls teams this season, with
help from Coach Johnny Olds on the boys’ side and Coach Molly
Tetleton on the girls’ team.

Clevenger, Shamari Gooch, Colton Harris, Ryan Humphries, Emmit
Henning, Dwayne Sparks, Josh Thorpe, Nichols Masdison, Slade
Monday, Cody Olds, Marcus Parr, Anthony Person, Willie Powell,
and T.J. Walsh.
Members of the 2006-2007 HJH Girls Basketball team are Taylor
Barlow, Brianna Boxx, Ashley Buckner, Andria Cooper, Katie
Farley, Shacreria Foster, Destiny Harrell, Lateia Humphrey,
Kelsey Layne, Tahniqua McKinney, Kailyn Maness, Brittany
Neville, Ashlee Nichols, Candice Stenson, Chelsea Vawter, and
Amanda Wright.
Halls Junior High School
recently announced its Honor Roll for the first nine weeks of
the 2006-2007 school year.

Baskets benefit St. Jude

Students in Mrs. Jennifer Smith’s homeroom class at Halls
Junior High School recently joined in an effort to raise money
for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The students raised
money to purchase and assemble baskets to be donated to the
Ripley Bit and Spur Club. The baskets were auctioned off at the
club’s recent “Trail Ride for St. Jude,” and brought $200 to aid
the hospital and its efforts to research childhood cancers.
