Lewis named new HJH Principal
Halls Junior High School will welcome a new
principal next year. Ned Lewis was recently named as the head of
HJH beginning in the 2007-2008 school year.
Lewis has served in the past as a teacher and
assistant principal at Covington High School, and as a teacher
in Lauderdale County’s own Ripley High School, where he also
played an important role in the school’s football program as
assistant football coach.
“I see this as a big challenge,” said Lewis. “But
also a great opportunity. It’s a very important position as far
as the school being successful. It can be very rewarding. I’m
excited.”
Lewis and his wife currently live near Halls in
the Nankipoo community.
“You either hit the ground running or get run
over,” said Lewis. “And we’re ready to hit the ground running.”
Walking for Elizabeth

The faculty, staff and students of Halls Junior High School
hosted a walk-a-thon on Saturday, April 28, to benefit a
classmate who has been diagnosed with osteosarcoma and is
currently undergoing treatment at St. Jude. Seventh-grader
Elizabeth Hugueley recently underwent surgeries to remove five
spots on her lungs, as well as bone replacements in her hip,
thigh and knee.
