Studying the Constitution

Students in Coach John Terry’s Social Studies
class at HJH recently completed a unit on the Constitution and
how important the document is to the foundation of both the
nation’s past and future. As a part of the study, Terry shared a
very old reproduction of the document with the class that was
given to him by local resident Hunter Mountjoy. Students studied
the historic manuscript and were required to recite its Preamble
before the class.
READ 180 is a great success

Many students at Halls Junior High School arrive
at school early each morning to participate in the READ 180
course offered in the school’s early morning Project L.E.A.D.
Program. READ 180, led by HJH faculty member Cathy Jarrett,
captures the attention of its participants through interesting
books and strengthens reading skills for the students who take
advantage of the ground-breaking initiative.
Media Club collects stories

Students in the Halls Junior High School Media Club are busy
collecting stories that feature the many wonderful programs
offered at the school. Led by faculty member Vicky Lankford, the
students meet on Fridays during the early morning program and
work in several different kinds of media. Students in the club
are pictured adjusting photos on one of the computers available
to the organization.
