Halls High School students celebrated the National Honor with a special assembly in the gym and a party with popcorn and sodas.

The faculty and students of Halls High School recently took time out of their regular schedules to celebrate the school’s national Blue Ribbon ranking.

HHS Principal Andy Pugh welcomed Superintendent Phillip Jackson, representatives of the Board of Education, Lauderdale County Commission, Lauderdale County Schools Central Office staff, the Mayor of Halls and members of the local community to celebrate the school’s prestigious award.

Pugh congratulated the faculty and student body of HHS for the diligent hard work and the strong effort they put toward meeting the requirements of the ranking and reminded students to always put their best foot forward when reaching for goals.

Superintendent Jackson, an alumnus of HHS, congratulated the students on the high test scores over the past three years that gained the attention of state and federal officials. He also recognized the school for its long history of excellence.

A Blue Ribbon Medallion and plaque have been posted in the school’s central lobby to remind all who enter the school of the accomplishment. Another seal was posted near the road on a brick structure built by members of Joe Clendenin’s Construction class.

Following the assembly, HHS students were treated to popcorn and sodas in the lobby outside of the gym.
