And the Oscar goes to….

Student Council members at Halls High
School recently hosted a semi-formal dance with the theme,
“Oscar Night,” for students in the school. Students walked the
red carpet for the event, which is one of several the
organization has taken on this school year. Other events
included the annual 5K Run to benefit the Make-a-Wish
Foundation, homecoming activities, the Miss Merry Christmas
Pageant and Tiger Madness. Upcoming plans include a spring
sports celebration and state convention.
Fenced In

The Bank of Halls recently erected a fence
surrounding the football field at Halls High School in honor of
Ruth Nunn Hallman, a teacher who served the school for many
years. The black wrought iron fence is the perfect addition to
the street side of the school, with gates accented with stately
monograms completing the new look.
HHS hosts JFK expert

Students in Jimmy Clendenin’s government class
at Halls High School recently were treated to a presentation
from one of the foremost experts in the country on the John F.
Kennedy assassination. Wallace Milam of Dyersburg has devoted
his time to investigating the tragedy for the past 30 years and
called it “the most photographed event in American history.”
Students were given an in-depth look at photographic evidence
and first-hand accounts on events that occurred the day one of
the nation’s most beloved presidents was killed. In the past few
years, Milam has turned his investigating skills toward the
events of September 11, 2001.
