Hungry to write

Second grade students at Ripley Primary
School, top photo, and fifth grade students at Halls Elementary
School, bottom photo, are pictured during their daily writing
practice. These writers will join with all students in
kindergarten through eighth grade on January17 to participate in
a county-wide writing initiative. The best example from each
class will be compiled in a portfolio to represent the county
and keep track of progress made throughout the year. The RPS
motto? “We only write on days we eat!”

Students in both Halls and Ripley are looking forward to
participating in a county-wide writing practice on January 17.
On that day, all students in kindergarten through eighth grade
will write on the same topic to emphasize the importance of
composition on every grade level...more
