Lillie Treadway began her teaching career in the Lauderdale
County School System, where she taught third grade for nine
years. For the past eight years, she has taught third grade for
Dyersburg City Schools. She has served in many leadership roles,
including on the Leadership Instructional Team, as a
Superintendent Teacher Advisory, in the Tennessee School
Improvement Planning Process and Tennessee Formative Assessment
Program. She was a 2001 Teacher of the Year recipient for
Lauderdale County and a 2008 Teacher of the Year recipient or
Dyersburg City Schools. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the
University of Memphis, a Master’s Degree in Educational
Leadership from Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, and
obtained her education specialist degree (Ed. S) through Union
University in 2007. She has also completed all her coursework
toward her Doctorate at Union. Mrs. Treadway joined the RPS
administrative team as assistant principal in the 2009-2010
school year. She and her husband, Bobby, have two daughters,
Brandi and Jessica.

A graduate of Dyer County High School, Daniel Mobley has
worked at the West Tennessee School for the Deaf in Jackson
since 1991. He has served the West Tennessee School for the Deaf
as a physical education teacher, technology coordinator, federal
programs director, and assistant principal. He holds a
Bachelor’s degree from Freed-Hardeman University, a Master’s
degree from Memphis State University, and has completed 36 hours
above his Master’s degree in Special Education Hearing and Deaf
Education PK-12. Mr. Mobley and his family reside in Dyer
County.

Debbie Kennedy was appointed Curriculum
Coordinator at Ripley Primary School in 1992, after teaching
first and third grades for 15 years. Kennedy earned both a
Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and
Instruction from the University of Tennessee at Martin. She
later completed her certification in administration and
supervision and is Career Ladder Level III teacher. She also
recently earned a Graduate Certificate in Dyslexic Studies at
Middle Tennessee State University.

RPS welcomes new administrators
Lillie Treadway will be the new
principal at Ripley Primary School for the 2010-2011 school
year. Lauderdale County Superintendent of Schools Joey Hassell
recently announced Treadway’s appointment to serve as RPS
Principal. Treadway is one of three new principals in the
Lauderdale County system.
“Change always presents challenges,” said Hassell. “However, I
am grateful to the newest school leaders in Lauderdale County.
Each leader exhibits integrity, dedication, organization, and
dependability. And all three individuals are energized and
focused on building collaborative school cultures that are
responsive to the children of Lauderdale County.”
Treadway, a graduate of Ripley High School, holds a Bachelor’s
degree from Memphis State University and a master’s degree in
Educational Leadership from Trevecca Nazarene University. She
has also completed her educational specialist degree from Union
University.
Treadway taught third grade in Lauderdale County from 1992 until
2001 at Ripley Elementary School. From 2001 until 2009, she
taught third grade for Dyersburg City Schools. A 2001 Teacher of
the Year recipient for Lauderdale County and a 2008 Teacher of
the Year recipient for Dyersburg City Schools, she most recently
served as assistant principal at Ripley Primary School for the
2009-2010 school year.
Mrs. Treadway and her family reside in Lauderdale County.
Mr. Daniel Mobley has just been appointed the new assistant
principal at RPS. He joins Curriculum Coordinator Debbie Kennedy
as part of the RPS administrative team.
He is one of four new administrators assigned to aid the
principals positioned at Lauderdale County Schools.
“Each of these individuals are committed, energized, and focused
on supporting each school’s principal,” said Hassell.

RPS Earth Day celebration

As part of an Earth Day celebration, students in
Mrs. Teresa White's second grade class at Ripley Primary
collected plastic bottles, bringing in a notable 26.6 pounds of
plastic for recycling!
Students also picked up trash on the school
playground and participated in an "Earth" poster contest.
RPS students send Flat Stanley on worldwide
adventure

After reading "Flat Stanley," students in Mrs. Teresa White's
second grade class at RPS participated in an exciting Stanley
project.
Each child created their own Stanley to send on an adventure.
The many Stanleys returned with an abundance of pictures and
exciting letters about his various travels.
Ripley Primary’s Flat Stanley visited seven states within the
United States and six countries including Japan, France,
England, Spain, Egypt, and Iraq. His adventures included riding
a camel in Egypt and visiting the London Bridge and the Eiffel
Tower. He even went turkey hunting!
RPS Project LEAD celebrates end of the year

Project LEAD students at Ripley Primary School celebrated the
last day of LEAD class with a variety of fun activities.
Students were presented awards, ate ice cream sundaes and
bounced around in an inflatable jump!
Rose honored for Project LEAD perfect
attendance

RPS second grader Colton Rose was recently honored for
perfect attendance in Project LEAD after school program for the
2009-2010 academic year. LEAD students attend class Monday -
Thursday from 3-5 p.m. each day.
