 Serving as Lauderdale Optional School Principal is Jackie W.
Jones. She is a native of Ripley, and has been principal since
2003. She returned to Lauderdale County in 1984 and taught
office technology for 13 years in the Ripley High School
Vocational Department. Mrs. Jones then served as school
counselor at Ripley High School and the Alternative/Optional
School for six years before accepting the position as principal.
She holds a bachelor of science and a master’s degree in
business education from Tennessee State University, and has
earned an additional 45 hours from the University of Tennessee
at Martin in school counseling. She also holds a M.S. degree in
school leadership from Trevecca Nazarene University in
Nashville. She and her husband, Robert, have three children,
Lagenia Jones Lee, Bryan K. Jones, and Ashley P. Jones.
