Lauderdale County School
District The Lauderdale County School District serves over
4,600 students from four communities encompassing the
Comprehensive District. The system operates under policies
established by its Board of Education, and is administered by a
Superintendent of Schools.
The system, throughout its eight (8) schools, delivers a
challenging curriculum in combination with a supportive
environment, both crafted to meet student needs. The Board and
staff believe in innovative programs that encourage and
challenge the county’s students; differentiating instruction to
address individual needs; and in developing family and community
engagement.
Lauderdale County's shared mission statement, "Lauderdale
County Schools will be successful 21st century learning
communities" is reflected in our Tennessee Comprehensive
Planning Process (TSCPP) found on our website at
www.lced.net. Teachers
set goals focused upon student learning.
Students can take advantage of in-school and after-school
programs designed to meet individual needs at all grade levels.
Lauderdale County is one of the leading districts in Tennessee
in the area of using technology to enhance teaching and
learning. All certified personnel are given iBook laptops and
all students in grades 6-8 have their own laptops with plans to
extend this program into the high school grades. All other
grades have access to mobile computer carts. A wide range of
classes and programs are offered to assure that students with
special talents and students with learning challenges are given
the opportunity to succeed at their performance level.
Lauderdale County has had the distinction of having one of
its two high schools receive the National Blue Ribbon School
award in 2006-2007. One-hundred percent of Lauderdale County
Schools are accredited by the Southern Association of Schools
and Colleges (SACS). The system enjoys recognition across the
state for success in technology advancements, career and
technical programs, academic success - especially with TVASS
(value added test results) and in the areas of extra curricular
activities.
