Eighth grade wiki project

The wiki is a project that eighth grade students at Halls Junior High School recently completed while reading “To Kill A Mocking Bird.” Students were grouped and given a literary device to research in regard to the novel. The students are pictured here putting the finishing touches on the website with their teacher, Mrs. Bushart.

The spirit of Christmas

Eighth-grade students at Halls Junior High School helped decorate a Christmas tree in the front lobby to prepare for the festive season.

This Christmas tree was also featured at the Carl Perkins Center Festival of Trees held on the newly decorated square in Ripley. The HJH tree came in 4th place in the competition and featured every student’s name on their own individual ornament.

HJH students receive an education in engineering

Students in Mrs. Bushart and Ms. Morris’ seventh-grade classes at Halls Junior High School recently researched catapults, bridges, and egg drops. Then, based on their findings, the students made replicas out of toothpicks.

HJH students complete Thinklink

Educators at Halls Junior High School are keeping their students on track during the 2009-2010 academic year with an assessment testing program. These tests help teachers monitor the students’ progress throughout the school year based on the standards that will be tested on the end-of-the-year TCAP test.

HJH faculty attend inservice

After Christmas break, teachers at Halls Junior High School returned to work for an inservice by Principal Ned Lewis on strategies to approach literacy issues in the classroom.
