The beauty of flowers

Members of the Halls High School Greenhouse Management class recently put their knowledge to work to help beautify the county with a project that brought the entire community together.

The students worked with Lauderdale County’s Keep Tennessee Beautiful Chairman Pamela Cherry Kirby, Nick Wright of Wright’s Auto Parts and HHS teacher Windy Willette to create a new flower bed in downtown Gates. The new bed is located on the northeast corner of the town’s four-way stop sign, in a place where all who pass by can enjoy the beautiful plants.

With the generous financial support of Wright's Auto Parts and the labor of the students, the project came together. Gates Mayor Booker Nance is pictured with the class.
