Dream BIG!
By Emily Winters,
NHS and Senior Class Reporter

Members of the Halls High School National Honor Society recently paid another visit to their Fourth Grade Pals. During this visit, dreams soared as the high school students instructed the children to write their goals on a paper cloud. The fourth graders also learned about the founder of St. Jude, Danny Thomas, and his dream of helping children who were diagnosed with cancer. The NHS members reminded the fourth graders that no dream is too big — and if they work hard enough — it will become a reality.

Touring the Windy City

Two Halls High School students recently took a trip to the Windy City with HHS teacher Gara Strong to attend a L.E.A.D. Conference on behalf of Halls High School’s Student Council.

At the conference, held in Chicago, Illinois, HHS student council members Casey Crockett and Brittany Ward enjoyed meeting new friends, experiencing leadership games and activities with renowned motivational speakers. The girls also had a chance to visit the Art Institute of Chicago and go sightseeing and shopping in the city.

HHS NHS visit features Christmas Cheer, Jolly Old Elf
By Emily Winters
NHS & Senior Class Reporter

The Halls High School National Honor Society brought Christmas cheer and a surprise visitor on its December visit to Fourth Grade Pals at Halls Elementary School.

The high school students instructed their pals to make Christmas cards for the children of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

An unexpected guest from the North also joined in the fun: Mr. Santa Claus himself. The children were excited at Santa’s early arrival, gratefully accepting the candy canes he brought to them. Santa Claus also explained to the children the importance of making good grades and being the best they can be.
